Signature Collection Family Crest Dinner Plate
We are excited to share the inspiration behind the Thèria family crest, our first print which serves as the brand’s emblem and is deeply rooted in ancient Hermetic philosophy, specifically The Kybalion's Principle of Rhythm. This principle teaches that everything in life moves in cycles: creation and destruction, rise and fall, just like the ebb and flow of the tides. We’ve drawn from this rhythm to craft our brand’s symbol, which reflects the ongoing transformation that shapes not only the world around us but also our own lives.
The crest features five powerful elements: Fire, Spirit, Air, Water, and Earth, each playing a unique role in the journey of creation and rebirth. These elements symbolize the inner forces that shape our lives: passion, change, intellect, emotion, and stability. Together, they tell the story of life’s continuous cycle, where destruction gives way to renewal, and where every ending holds the seed of a new beginning.
At the heart of this story is a hero's journey. The White Rhino, standing as the patriarch, burns down the home he’s worked so hard to build. He is also a symbol of strength and leadership. The Peacock, the matriarch, then waters the roots of the family home, nurturing its rebirth. Along the way, Dragonflies spread the winds of change, and the Orchid, resilient and full of beauty, represents the growth that follows adversity.
We also wanted to share a few deeply personal aspects of our crest: the Penguins at its crown represent our family. Our crest symbol honors the love and unity that binds us, inspired by Justin's proposal to Lara at a penguin colony in Ushuaia, Argentina, where they dressed up in penguin onesies. The Chihuahua is our first baby Coconut, and one of the greatest loves of Lara's life, whose spirit now lives on as a green butterfly, reminding us of the power of transformation and the enduring connection between the physical and spiritual worlds. The hidden message in Braille is “Close your eyes and see” which invites you, our readers, to imagine a different world, one where creativity, empathy, and connection guide us toward a brighter future. Théria isn’t just about art; it’s about re-writing stories, embracing the whimsical, and shining a light on our blind spots. We hope our work inspires you to reflect, transform, and grow alongside us.

The Family Crest is the first print in Thèria’s collection and serves as the brand’s emblem, a visual mythology centered around the Matriarch and Patriarch, embodied by the Peacock and the White Rhino.
Rooted in the Kybalion’s Principle of Rhythm, the crest reflects the eternal movement between creation and destruction, and rebirth, expansion and contraction, endings and beginnings.
At its core, the crest is built upon five elemental forces: Fire, Spirit, Air, Water, and Earth, each representing the inner architecture of human experience: passion, transformation, intellect, emotion, and stability. Together, they form a living system of life’s continuous cycle, where destruction gives way to renewal, and where every ending holds the seed of a new beginning.
As the sun moves across the sky, its light is captured through the Rhino’s monocle and focused onto the orchid below. In this moment, the Patriarch and keeper of structure and legacy ignites the very home he has built, symbolizing the necessary destruction that precedes evolution.
Around him, the dragonflies carry the winds of change, their wings stirring the air as the world begins to shift. What once felt permanent reveals itself as transient.
Opposite this force, the Peacock, the Matriarch, remains grounded in wisdom and intuition. She waters the roots, nurturing what cannot yet be seen. Where fire consumes, she restores. Where endings appear, she ensures continuation.
Through her, destruction becomes regeneration.
The Family Crest is not simply a symbol of lineage; it is a philosophy. A reminder that life moves in rhythm, and that within every collapse lies the quiet beginning of something new.
The Rhino: Symbolizing strength and leadership, represents the patriarch of the family, whose actions trigger a cycle of destruction and rebirth.

Roots: Represent the family’s deep connection to the earth, heritage, and stability.
Coconut, the Chihuahua: As a symbol of spirit and the 5th element, the dog’s story symbolizes love, loyalty, and the transformative power of grief and remembrance.
Fire: Represented by the Sun and Rhino’s monocle, symbolizing passion, change, and strength.
Spirit: The transformation of the Chihuahua, Coconut, into a green butterfly, illustrating the connection between the physical and spiritual realms.
